Ron Shockey Benefit

Ron was diagnosed in April with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease), a rare, terminal disease that affects the nerve cells that control muscles in the upper and lower body.   This disease often progresses quickly, and Ron has already been forced to give up many cherished activities.  He is also facing many changes to his daily life, especially concerning mobility.

While many of Ron’s medical bills are covered by insurance, there remain numerous significant expenses that are not.  These include items ranging from medical co-pays to transportation costs to remodeling his home to be wheelchair accessible.  Ron has been proactive in researching not only these expenses, but also in finding financial assistance to help cover them.  However, it’s just not enough for him to be able to leave his wife Sherri in a stable financial situation.
