Sycamore Preschool

The Sycamore Preschool strives to be a school in Christian Living.  As the children learn to live within and outside the home, through sharing, group play and peer relationships, they are learning to respond to Christian and educational ideals.  Your children will have an opportunity to associate regularly with other children the same age, in an environment designed and equipped for them.  It is our hope that your child will grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally, socially and physically through our goals in this preschool experience.

Preschool Staff

Lisa Boocher, Director

Lisa is the Director of Sycamore Preschool and teaches 5 year olds. She has been in transportation for 25 years at Manchester Community Schools. She has four years of experience teaching at Sycamore, as well as serving on the Sycamore Preschool Board. She also serves as one of the Trustees for NM United Methodist Church.

Lisa enjoys reading and walking around the beautiful town of North Manchester. She loves spending time with her two sons and their families. Her six grandchildren are the joy of her life!

Lisa hopes to develop strong social skills in each of her students, as well as provide a fun learning experience in a Christian atmosphere.

Deb Emmert, Teacher

Deb previously served as the Director of Sycamore Preschool as well as a teacher for the 4 and 5 year old students.

She enjoys observing and participating in a child's creative thinking and discovery process as they develop their potential.

Deb's personal goal for Sycamore Preschool is to motivate children to develop the ability to build social, spiritual and academic skills for learning and decision making in a safe and fun environment.

Sarah Longanecker, Teacher

Sarah graduated from Indiana University, Ft. Wayne (IPFW) with a degree in Elementary Education and a Kindergarten Endorsement. She has found her calling in Early Childhood Education and has worked several years in the field. She loves to watch children learn, create, explore, and accomplish new things. She strives to create an environment for learning to be fun and truly believes that, “Play is the work of childhood," as quoted by Mr. Fred Rogers. She lives with her husband and two children in North Manchester.

Her goals for the three-year-old classroom are to establish a safe, secure, nurturing and stimulating environment for children. She hopes to help the children in her class thrive in their spiritual, social, motor, and academic development. She wants a child's first school experience to be a positive one, for them to learn of God's great love for them, and for the children in her class to develop a love of learning!
